Jarvis Student Residence, Toronto

April 2016

Jarvis street student residence was an environmental investigation for a proposed student residence. We completed 3 boreholes of varying depth from 4m to 8m. We used a Diedrich D-25 to complete the boreholes. For this investigation we utilized bedrock coring and installed monitoring wells in the boreholes. Unique challenges to this site included no water on site and limited access. To solve the problem of access we lowered the D-25 into the excavation using a tower crane.


December 2015 – April 2016

The Eglinton LRT project was a geotechnical/environmental investigation for the proposed Eglinton Light Rail Transit System. This project required the drilling of over 100 boreholes at a varying depth from 3m to 55m. Our Dietrich D120, three D50s and our D25 skid-mounted drill were used on this job. Drilling techniques included PQ soil coring, mud rotary, pressure meter testing, plate load testing and split spoon sampling. Drilling occurred on open lots, busy roads and inside existing subway stations.
